Q: How do you know how old Honker is?
A: He said so in the episode "Going Nowhere Fast".

Q: Honker's a goose, right? Then what are his parents?
A: This is kind of a tricky issue. Herb appears to be a duck, with white feathers and a duck bill; Binkie has a curved bill indicative of a goose, and very yellow feathers. Her feathers are so yellow that she's always reminded me more of a canary than a goose. Tank's feathers are white but he has the curved bill his mother has; Honker's a medium yellow colour and seems to be a goose pretty completely. Some people say that the name is all that matters and that Herb is a goose because of the name Muddlefoot, no matter what his bill looks like. Is Honker half-goose, all-goose, or not really a goose at all? Who knows? Maybe it's more up to personal interpretation over all.

Q: How/when did Honker figure out Darkwing's secret identity?
A: That's a question that was never answered, since it happened off-camera, presumably when the Mallards met the Muddlefoots. I figure Honker just figured it out; he is obviously a lot smarter than the average St. Canard resident, and as such he'd be more likely to pick up on the (rather obvious) clues about Darkwing's secret identity.

Q: How smart is Honker?
A: Umm.... really smart. <:) He always has a backpack full of textbooks and calculators with him, and he's prone to calculating plans last minute. In "Getting Antsy", when he goes out mini-golfing with Gosalyn, Drake, and Launchpad, he pulls off perfect shots by calculating the best angles. Honker is also prone to figuring out the scientific details behind things going weird, such as Darkwing's suddenly aging more quickly in "Getting Nowhere Fast", and a lot of times he helps to save the day by being his usual genius self while Darkwing just trashes the bad guys. Honker does get a little self-conscious about being so smart, and sometimes he tries to change himself, but he always comes back to his true self and really, deep down inside, it's who he's comfortable being.

Q: Why is he friends with Gosalyn, when they're so different?
A: Because Gosalyn's the only person who has ever bothered to look beyond the glasses. Honker is a very quiet type, and in fact he tends to stutter when people are looking at him. His big brother is a terrible bully, and Honker really seems to have no friends at all except for Gosalyn. However, despite their differences these two kids are really perfectly suited for each other. Honker really needs a friend, and Gosalyn is very supportive of him. She really listens to what he has to say, sticks up for him in public, and shows a lot of confidence in his actions. Her presence in his life is no doubt extremely beneficial. On the other hand, Honker gives a lot to Gosalyn in return, even though she has plenty of other friends... He is smart, loyal, and he'll go along with any strange plan she comes up with (even if he does say "but, Gosalyn!" a few times). 'Cause face it, even though Gosalyn is a great friend, she's also really pushy and aggressive. There's no doubt she appreciates having a best friend who will do almost anything she says.

Q: Do you think Gosalyn and Honker will get married when they're older?
A: I think it's a little early to think about that, and I doubt either of them- especially Gosalyn- has put any thought into the matter beyond the fact that they're best friends. Still, the two are pretty compatible and would make a cute couple in the future. There's no real reason to assume it wouldn't go that way. :)

Q: What are some of Honker's best episodes?
A: Oh, let's see... "A Brush With Oblivion", "Calm a Chameleon", "Twin Beaks", "Brainteasers" all come to mind. Honker gets to play hero rather often, surprisingly, especially in the first season of episodes run on Saturday AM. It's really too bad he gets overlooked, both in fandom and in commercial releases.

Q: Say, I just realized, Honker doesn't wear pants either...
A: Let's just take it for granted that most people in the Darkwingverse don't wear pants, and only make note of those rare individuals who DO wear pants, shall we?

A: I'd expect it would be hard for even Honker to pick a favourite. Probably math, though - he carries textbooks and a calculator around with him everywhere he goes, so it's a pretty good guess that math is, fundamentally, Honker's favourite.
