Gosalyn Mallard

Full name: Gosalyn (Waddlemeyer) Mallard
Age: Nine
Appearance: Red-headed bundle of energy, approximately three(?) heads tall. Yellow feathers, green eyes, and except on a few very very rare occasions, her hair is worn up in two pigtails. The quintessential tomboy, Gosalyn is most often seen wearing a purple hockey jersey with the number 1 on it, and a pair of sneakers. She has an extremely expressive face, and would never be mistaken for meek little girl.
First Appearance: "Darkly Dawns the Duck" (origin movie).
Relationship to Darkwing: Drake Mallard's adopted daughter.
Known relatives: None living. Her grandfather, the late Professor Waddlemeyer, raised her after her parents died. Waddlemeyer was an inventor. As for "Mom and Dad", outside of an offhanded mention by Gosalyn, nothing is known of them - not even their names.
Occupation: Nine-year-old elementary school student.
Special Skills: Whiffle Boy champion; anything to do with sports, she can do, with a particular affinity for hockey; highly skilled in archery, to the point of pursuing a super-hero career under the name "Quiverwing Quack"; has a unique talent for getting into trouble, if you can call that a skill.
Quirks: Seems to be proud of her ability to cause chaos wherever she goes; best friends with the introspective genius boy next door; stubborn as a mule, and the only person who rivals her in that department is her father.

Just who is this spirited youngster who tags along on Darkwing's cases? Is she a royal pain, or is she an invaluable asset? Or maybe a little of both. ;) With inexhaustible energy and bravery that sometimes borders on foolishness, Gosalyn is destined to be a great hero someday... If her father will let her, that is.

Gosalyn's impact on those around her is tremendous. She gives Honker someone he can open up to, Launchpad someone he can relate to on an intellectual level ;), and Darkwing's enemies someone they can kidnap. (Well, I guess that last one isn't such a good thing.) But the effect she has on Darkwing is the most telling. She turned a loner into a family man in a little under two days, she showed him that there was a purpose to his being Darkwing Duck, and most importantly, as he tells her, "Before you, I didn't have a life worth risking." Gosalyn is Darkwing's life, in many ways.
