I have always really liked Bushroot's voice. Very cartoony, lot of expression in it, and somehow very likeable at the same time. There are a lot of endearing aspects to it - the slight lisp, the whiny tone he can get at times, and his tendency to yelp *g* So I always had a bit of an interest in Tino Insana, the actor who gives Reggie his voice; among other things, that name really stands out. It's not hard to notice him if he's in something, once you see the credits; and generally speaking, Tino is very recognizable for his voice alone. That would be how I found him in a truly bizarre movie, "Masters of Menace", about a bunch of bikers. I was channel-flipping, saw it for a few seconds, and was about to change it when I heard Bushroot. Curiosity forced me to sit through the whole thing just to verify that it was indeed him.
In any case, Tino has been acting both physically and vocally for a good number of years now. A Chicago native born in February 1948, Tino's first role listed at IMDB is in a 1977 movie called "Cracking Up". He has since been in a number of semi-famous movies, the sort which have big-name stars in them and yet typically don't do too well: "Couch Trip" with Dan Aykroyd, "Who's Harry Crumb" with John Candy, "Beverly Hills Cop III" with Eddie Murphy. He also has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance as a security guard in "The Three Amigos", and I clearly remember seeing him in an episode of "Designing Women".
Testament to the fact that Tino really is, despite his somewhat mediocre near-anonymity, a very funny man, is in the fact that he had a good career as a writer for a time. In fact, he was a story editor for the TV series "Police Squad!", which later gave birth to the "Naked Gun" movies.
Of course Tino has had a good many voice roles; with such a distinctive voice I think casting people would be silly not to hire him. ^_^ He's best-known for his roles on Darkwing and on "Bobby's World" (as Uncle Ted); he's also had recurring roles on "Aladdin", "Bonkers", and "Pepper Ann". A source has recently informed me that Tino appears to have "a flourishing career in radio advertising". He's been recognized in ads for Amoco and Maker's Mark bourbon, as well as "another ad he appeared in, but I cannot remember what it was for, only that Tino played an incompetent motivational speaker". *giggles* I want to hear this now. ^_~ Unfortunately there is no word of any currently ongoing role for Tino; all his recent listings at IMDB are of the "guest appearance" sort. But hopefully he'll turn up someplace again... I miss the guy. ^_^
